What We Do
THINKING:
Context. Programming. Design.
At Three Sixty Design, we believe the practice of landscape architecture is a tool to create innovative landscape and ecological strategies for any project, independent of location or budget. Each project is shaped by its unique site characteristics, such as views, vegetation, and topography, to create a design that is both sustainable and thoughtful.
Our team of landscape architects and consultants believe in an interdisciplinary design process that encourages the exchange of ideas to capitalize on the expertise of each design team professional. Our ultimate goal is to create sustainable landscapes that will both thrive in their environment and inspire the people who use them. Our technique gives each project a unique vision. From conceptual design through construction, our process reveals a site’s potential while creating environments that are timeless.
PROCESS:
Context.
Three Sixty Design’s process begins with a holistic approach that identifies the site’s unique attributes to create a design solution that responds to the location’s specific needs. We evaluate each site to achieve an understanding of its ecological needs, and create designs in balance with nature.
Programming.
Understanding how the site will be used and ensuring the site meets our client’s needs is a critical step in our design process. Our team is involved in a wide variety of project types, from urban infill and mixed-use redevelopment sites to public parks and residential gardens. Our experience, coupled with collaboration with clients, lets us create thriving, inspiring, sustainable landscapes.
Design.
Our design inspiration is drawn from site-specific qualities such as existing plant palettes, topography and associated architecture. We experiment with materials and details — all leading to a healthy environment that is site-specific, sustainable and purposeful.

LEED and Sustainable Design
What our landscape architects and planners can do to earn points, save money, increase property values, and improve occupant comfort.
Out of 69 points, there are 14 Sustainable Sites points pertaining to site selection, open space, accessibility, and light pollution and there are 2 Water Efficiency points pertaining to landscape irrigation. With Three Sixty Design’s core talents, we can efficiently help to achieve many of these 16 points on every project, saving money on more expensive credits, and streamlining your LEED certification process.
Our expertise in plant and hardscape materials, site analysis and programming combined with our familiarity of all LEED credits often provides synergies with other points in the LEED certification system. For example, siting the building and designing the planting plan with respect to dominant winter winds and solar glare can greatly improve thermal comfort, lighting comfort, and optimize energy performance. Using our landscape architects’ expertise in the appropriate areas of LEED certification can save money during design and construction as well as throughout the life of the building. Our expertise also contributes to the comfort of occupants, often leading to increased efficiency and retention of employees as well as higher lease rates and property values.
Sustainable Sites Initiative
The Sustainable Sites Initiative™ (SITES™) is an interdisciplinary effort by the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at The University of Texas at Austin and the United States Botanic Garden to create voluntary national guidelines and performance benchmarks for sustainable land design, construction and maintenance practices.
