About Us

We are a collaborative group of landscape architects, planners and construction consultants dedicated to designing environments that respond to the project and client needs while also addressing and resolving fundamental economic, cultural and environmental issues.  Our guiding tenet is to design places that strengthen the relationship between people, architecture and the landscape.

We have created a more cost efficient design process by forming project teams that use the most experienced and relevant designers specific to the budget and project type, in effect redefining what a landscape architecture and planning firm can do for you.  We recognize the need for growth and construction for healthy cities and communities while considering the cost benefit factors of good design.  We have minimized overhead costs while preserving a design process that is intelligent and provides comprehensive solutions.

LEADERSHIP

Courtney

Courtney’s experience ranges from resort master planning, urban design and redevelopment, streetscape and plaza design, site planning to garden design.  Although a large array of scale, the design process is always driven by context.  Through extensive understanding of the site’s natural processes and cultural framework, each site reveals it’s unique characteristics which begins to give form and substance to a design.  Her process creates solutions that connect the site to the architecture and the landscape.  Courtney’s design work reflects attention to detail, innovative construction methods and sustainable solutions for commercial and residential projects alike. Her experience has lent to numerous built projects while many have been recognized for awards and featured in regional and national magazines.

While ensuring the design is responsive to the site, Courtney’s experience also leads the project and team to successful projects that are on time and on budget while delivering a design that is thoughtful and economically feasible.

Lori

Lori Catalano is dedicated to crafting built environments that educate, interpret, and explore cultural and natural landscapes.  Over the past 15 years, Lori has applied this ideal to the design of a wide range of projects.  She has experience designing and managing projects ranging from small private spaces to large master plans for parks and college campuses with both public and private clients.  Some of her major projects include Denver’s Commons Park, the Discovery Learning Center on the University of Colorado campus in Boulder, and Regis University’s Master Plan and perimeter landscape design.  Her diligence in responding to client’s needs, adaptability in incorporating unexpected changes, and excellent technical knowledge, allow Lori to successfully complete projects.  Crucial to the success of these projects is her belief in a collaborative relationship with the client and contractor.
During the past five years, Lori has been compelled to integrate her knowledge, experience, and passion as a practitioner with the desire to inspire students to explore beyond the known bounds of landscape architecture.  As a practitioner, her work has focused on crafting landscapes that integrate the landscape with aspects of daily life, such as work and play.  As a teacher, she strives to develop the individual’s curiosity and encourage them to pursue their own interests and passions.

Lori’s honors for academic excellence include two American Society of Landscape Architecture Merit Awards and the VanAlen Travel Fellowship from the University of Pennsylvania.  As a result of these diverse professional and academic experiences, she is adept at integrating the practical with the meaningful in the design of environments that enhance everyday life.
